What Skiglede Does

Skiglede is a ski boot flex calculator. It uses your phone's GPS to measure your skiing speed, then calculates the boot flex that matches the forces you generate. That's it.

Data We Collect

Skiglede collects the following data, stored locally on your device:

• Location data — GPS speed and altitude while you ski. Used only during active measurement. We do not track your position or record your route.
• Body measurements — Height and weight, entered by you. Used to calculate flex.
• Ski radius — The turn radius of your skis, entered by you.
• Run data — Your measured speeds and calculated flex results.

Anonymous Usage Data

When you rate a test run, Skiglede sends an anonymous summary to our server to help improve the flex formula. This includes:

• Height, weight, skiing speed, ski radius
• Boot flex and calculated flex values
• Your feedback rating (too low / just right / too high flex)
• Your self-reported skiing level
• Any notes you add about conditions
• An anonymous device identifier (resets if you reinstall the app)
• Device locale (country/region setting)
• App version number

This data is fully anonymous — it contains no name, email, location coordinates, or any other personally identifiable information. It is used solely to validate and improve the flex calculation algorithm.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not track your GPS position or route — only speed is measured.
• We do not use cookies or similar technologies.

Where Your Data Lives

Your measurements and run history are stored locally on your iPhone using standard iOS file storage. Anonymous run summaries are sent to our server (hosted on Netlify) for algorithm improvement. If you delete the app, all local data is deleted with it.

Location Access

Skiglede requests location access ("When In Use") to measure your skiing speed via GPS. In Auto Mode, GPS remains active in the background while you ski so the app can detect your runs automatically. Location data is used solely for speed calculation — your position and route are never recorded or transmitted.

No Accounts

Skiglede does not require an account. There is no login, no sign-up, and no personal profile.

Children's Privacy

Skiglede does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here. The date at the top will be updated accordingly.
